- Mr. Baumann, you train people in meditation techniques, but meditation is considered by the majority of Ukrainians as the attribute of oriental religion. What is a matter of fact? - In the last 20 years I visited practically all countries of Western and Central Europe, and I can say that the majority of Europeans consider meditation in exactly the same manner. In fact, meditation stems not from the religious cults (quite the contrary). Meditation is just the technique which makes to relax our mind (psyche), and then the entire body. Meditation is a deep rest which makes a man to recreate himself within a sufficiently short time, 15- 30 minutes. THE END OF INFORMATION - And how often such rest is necessary for a contemporary person? - Everybody will find his own answer but usually a contemporary person needs a deep relaxing twice a day. I recommend practicing meditation in the morning or in the daytime and in the evening, after the workday. It is far from possible for everybody always to wake up in the morning quite cheerful (it is known to everybody). But even if it is not so, meditation will make to give a new quality to the morning cheerfulness. Besides giving the activity to mind meditation makes it to become more centered, more concentrated and more resistant to assignments. During a day man’s strengths are exhausted, and since nowadays just few are occupied with a heavy physical labor the mind of most people is exhausted. For this reason the psyche becomes unstable, and evens the smallest trouble (problem) wrecks man’s mental balance for a long time. In another time, being cheerful and full-potential, the same person just will laugh at that problem. In the evening a man comes home. Home is a place where we can and must restore our forces. In the same time, coming home after work tired and irritated, the same person very often reacts badly to the family members, and a quantity of stresses accumulated during a day just increases. Everybody knows, regardless whether you are mom or dad that the family want you would be always fresh and restored. If, for example, a father brings home just stresses, grumbles to the children when they meet him… In this situation both children, whom are shouted at, and father himself who is irritated are unfortunate. He wants to love his children, but he is exhausted to do it. He wants only to sit down in solitude, to drink beer with nuts, and nobody would touch and disturb him. Had a man first had a rest after work, for example, 15- 20 minutes practicing meditation, released from stresses, recharged his battery again. Then he would return to his family happy and calm, and embrace his children with pleasure. Children also would meet the father with pleasure, and they would be happy because of his attitude to them. The harmony in the family is the basis of the harmony of the entire nation, the entire country. - As far as one can judge, meditation is not the only method to relax at home. - Yes, there are the others, but accordingly to statistics the most people use just two or three methods to rest at home after workday. For example, watching TV. Television, either programs or movies, is planned as an entertainment, the leisure, which allows people to divert from the daily troubles and to relax, but… Very often the criminal news, the movies with the violent scenes, political battles, etc, which is created for attracting spectator’s attention, bring more stresses. As a result, insomnia is one of the manifestations of the fact that a person cannot relax at home. Alcohol allows a man to remove stress from the internal organs and to relax psyche (that’s why this product became so popular in many countries).The same alcohol in any form itself creates a stress in the metabolic system, and in large quantities it destroys psyche. Food allows the vital energy stocks supplementing and also release from stress, but badly cooked food or its immoderate quantities discomforts metabolism and pollutes the body. I.e., it creates a peculiar stress, but on physiological level which is not better than mental one. -- It is clear with the other ones, but the mechanism of meditation is not very clear to everybody. - This mechanism is rather simple, but first I should tell you about some regularity. To speak figuratively, we are like storage batteries; we possess our own charge which is exhausted in the course of time. What do we do when the battery is flat, for example, in the cell phone? We connect it to the electricity supply; and 220 volts of electrical energy restore the charge. In the same time everybody is surrounded by vital energy anywhere one can be - in the city, in the forest, in the village, on the beach or in the open sea. Naturally, out of town, in a crowdless place, there is more such energy and it is easier to be connected to its source. But in real life in working time few can allow themselves to leave the city for the country in order to relax for 15-20 minutes. At the same time wherever we are we live submerged in the ocean of fine vital energy. Thus, the circuit with the necessary current (energy reserve) is always within easy reaching, we just should be connected up to charge the battery. It’s so simple; one should just to relax, to sit down in the convenient pose and to free one’s mind from importunate thoughts, from any thoughts, pleasant or unpleasant. In order to free mind from the stress there are several techniques: physical activity (sport exercises or yoga asanas); singing; respiratory techniques and meditation. Meditation is the most “compact” one; as unlike singing it does not draw away anybody’s attention, and unlike physical exercises does not require a lot of free space. One should just sit down comfortably and relax the mind. To sit down comfortably one can anywhere, for example, in the office on the chair, in the armchair, in the park on bench, on the car seat or on the floor. It is more complicated for an untrained person to relax the mind; it’s required a special technique, for example, Sakhadzh Samadhi meditation. It is simply to master Sakhadzh Samadhi and practice it at home or work. - As far as it is known, this is your first visit to Ukraine. What impression did the national mentality of our people make on you? -Actually, this my first visit to your country. I spent here about two weeks, and carried out the courses in the Crimea (t. Theodosia) and the central region of Ukraine (Kiev region). I can say that Ukrainians, who live both in the center and in the south, are good and sympathetic people. They are lively; they have many questions, many various ideas... They have a lot of love; also, they have a very good response to Sakhadzh Samadhi. Ukrainians realize that the meditations, which they practice, have a very good influence on the nation as a whole. Many of them realized that they became more relaxed, more energetic, more open and friendlier to the people in any situation in their life. В рамках всеукраинской благотворительной акции «Подари радость детям», организованной Международной организацией ТОВ «Мистецтво життя» при поддержке «МЕGА LIFESCIENCES», в приюте для несовершеннолетних и интернате №3 для 150 краматорских ребятишек был проведен трехдневный бесплатный курс «Школа без агрессии».
